Skimp or Splurge: Tall Leather Boots

Sweet Michelle from Happy Hodgepodge Home commented on my previous post wondering if there is a similar pair of boots out there that wouldn't break the bank.

Boy do I understand that! So, I decided to make it into a skimp or splurge post!

These Sam  Edelman's are the splurge @ $224 USD

But here are some more affordable choices...

These Steve Madden's @ $69.95 USD

These Nine West boots @ $179 USD
(By the way, they're having their friends & family event where all full price
merchandise is 30% off! And there is $5 flat rate shipping on any purchase!)

These Charlotte Russe boot @ $35.50 USD
(And all of their shoes/boots are buy one get the next for $15!)

What do you think? Would you skimp or splurge?
Do you know of any other affordable options?

Hey good lookin'

I. love. these. boots.

That is all.

I love the look of a fresh pop of color in a room!
Whether is be a pillow, wall decor, a piece of furniture or

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Dry Erase Meal Planner!

While traveling through blogland I stumbled upon this great free
printable meal planner and knew that I had to share it with all of you!

I put mine in this rustic frame and put an orange border around it...

Isn't it cute?!  It has each day of the week on one of the pots & pans!
And I can just write what's for dinner on the glass...handy dandy!

Especially handy if you have kids or a husband who are always
nagging about what's for dinner...Oh, wait.  I don't have either of these. Ha!

I found the free printable here at the Petit Elefant.
So hop on over and get one for yourself!

What's in my bag?

Well, I'll just show you!
Roo over at Nice Girl Notes is hosting a link up party and she wants to know

What's in your bag?

{And if you haven't met Roo yet, GO. NOW. She is utterly hilarious! I promise you will love her.}

So, here is the bag:

Now, let's take a peek inside...

  • Loose change (odd that this was the only loose change in there)
  • Sephora OPI nail polish in "Go my own way"
  • Orly clear top coat nail polish
  • Not one, but TWO teasing combs (not sure why there's two...)
  • Bobby pins
  • Clinique mirror (free with gift, duh)
  • Grocery list
  • Vitamin pack
  • 6 pens (overkill, I know...but I only like this kind and this kind)
Phew! I don't think I have enough stuff in my bag...ha!
Head over to see what Roo and all the other ladies have in their bags!

Just go here :)

Whoa, yard sale!

Well, if you follow me on twitter you probably already know that my
family had a yard sale this weekend in my hometown of Marietta, Georgia.
Isn't it amazing how one person can just have so much crap stuff :)

Here are a few pictures of the yard sale...

That pink blob in the corner is my college decor.
*Note: I did NOT choose the bright pink...that was my roommate's choice.*

How many bunnies can you find in this picture?  They are literally multiplying!

No one in their right mind should have that many shoes...

This gives you an idea of the amount of stuff we had!
There was even more inside our garage!
And you know what?  No one bought the couch or side table we were selling!
And we would have taken just about any offer on them!

We were able to make a good bit of money overall and the rest of
the items will be donated to a local charity.  The best part?
We were able to let go of a bunch of things we didn't need anymore!

I also want to share a couple photos I took on my home from Marietta to Huntsville...

I took lots of pictures, but since I was being a safe driver and not looking
where I was shooting these are the only two that turned out decent, ha!
It was a beautiful sunset though, especially since I was driving toward it
and getting out from underneath the torrential downpour.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Did any of you head out to any yard sales?  Or did you have one of your own?

Don't forget to enter the Dapper Paper giveaway here!
It ends tonight at 9:00 pm CST!

Kitchen Makeover!

Since I don't own a home and I rent an apartment I live vicariously
through my friends when it comes to home improvement projects.

So, when my friend Amanda e-mailed me over the weekend with a
few pictures of the work in progress on their kitchen makeover I immediately
told her to PLEASE send me more!!!!! She of course obliged :)

So here are a few before pictures...

And here is the after...

Why hello there you gorgeous gray!
And buenos dias you crisp white back-splash!
What's that? A terracotta color on the walls? I die.

Here are the changes that were made:
  • Fresh coat of paint on the walls and the cabinets
  • Reglazed back-splash, sink and countertops
  • Spray painted hinges
  • New handles/knobs
Okay, I need to see some more pictures of this delicious makeover...

Here are the paint colors:

  • Wall color = Valspar Florentine Clay
  • Cabinet color = Valspar Semi Sweet
  • Cabinet paint = Behr "Porch & Floor"
  • Spray painted hinges = Rustoleum's Hammered Dark Bronze
Total cost of the makeover?
Under $500!

I think it looks absolutely amazing! And I love those color together!

What do you guys think?

P.S. - I have to tell you what Amanda said in her initial
e-mail to me about her kitchen...Her words exactly were:
"So, since I don't have a blog, I'm just sending YOU my before and afters!
After all, this is all your fault ;) That owl of yours has created a monster in me..."

I thought y'all would get a kick out of that!
Happy Wednesday y'all! :)

Oh, and don't forget to check out my blog sale here.
I'm only keeping the items active until Friday night!

Crewcuts = Adorableness!

I don't have any children (don't worry Mom, I will one day), but If I did I think I
would have to put them in adorable little outfits like those from Crewcuts.

Look at these miniature ensembles for little girls...

And for little boys...

Seriously, I can't take it.  They are too cute!
I'm going out to find a small child to buy these clothes for...
Was that too creepy?
These clothes are so cute they're messing with my mind!

Don't forget to check out my blog sale here!
