Caught my eye

As I was browsing Anthropologie recently there were a few items that tickled my fancy.
Now that warm weather is approaching I'm thinking more and more about new summer outfits...

Has anything caught your eye recently?  I'd love to know!

Pinterest

I am obsessed.  I mean, really.  I may have a problem.
I have discovered Pinterest and there is no turning back.

Pinterest is a visual pin board where you can create collections of things you love.
I love that I can pin things to my collections - and I can re-pin things others have discovered.
You can create collections of home decor ideas, DIY, wedding, photography, etc...
I know, it sounds confusing.  But once you check it out you'll understand.  Promise.

Are you on Pinterest?  I'm telling you I don't know what I did without it.
You can find me on Pinterest right here.  I'd love to follow you, too!

Before & After Coffee Table

It's been a while since I've done a before and after on anything.  But with moving into my
new home, there were several things that needed some updating!  Enter my coffee table.

I had originally painted this coffee table black, since I was told my old apartment would
have black appliances.  Wrong.  I had already painted this table black and then came to
find out that I had all white appliances.  So, when I moved into my new place I knew this
had to be one of the first items I transformed.  My little black coffee table went from this:

And with a little help from my trusty primer and sponge brush...

After one coat of primer and two coats of Martha Stewart Sharkey
Gray my sweet little coffee table once again looked sweet :)

I added a cute little glass knob, too!  For some sparkle!

I'm still getting everything situated in my place, but as soon as I feel like it's in order
I'll be posting pictures of the decorated spaces.  I hope for my sake that it's soon :)

Lately

So, as you may have noticed there has been a lack of blog posts recently.
But now I'm back!  For good!  There's no getting rid of me people.

And I wanted to fill you in on some things I've been up to:

I've been purchasing new shoes :)

Driving around

Painting my nails this color

Putting together my new ikea chair ::swoon::

Going on walks around my new neighborhood

Driving to weddings

I've been catching bouquets at weddings :)

And I brought my sweet little Maddie to Montgomery after her vacation at my mom's

And I don't have a picture to depict this, but I've been super busy.
Busy with work.  Busy with home. Busy with life in general.  I'm sure y'all can relate!
Here's to looking forward to the weekend!  Almost there!  :)

Spoonflower

A friend of mine recently told me about this fantastic online fabric store called Spoonflower.
I can't believe I just discovered this site!  They have a wonderful variety of fabrics and what's
great is that they have fabrics you probably won't find in any other fabric store you stumble upon.

Here are a few that caught my eye...

Check out Spoonflower for yourself!  I'm sure you'll find tons of fabrics like I did :)
I can't wait to order some of my favorites - the thing is, which one will I choose?!

I hope everyone's week is off to a great start!
Is it bad that it's only Tuesday and I'm ready for the weekend?

Prayers Needed

Sorry for the absence in blog posts, but between work and the recent destruction in our
state I haven't had much time or energy for posts.  Our beautiful state has been destroyed
in so many areas.  I can't even begin to describe the damage across our state.  It brings me to tears.

As many of you have probably heard, the city of Tuscaloosa was one of the main areas that
was hit by the recent tornadoes in the South.  It's absolutely horrible.  The destruction is
unreal and the fact that a place I called my home for four years is sitting in rubble is devastating.

Luckily, the city I live in now was not affected by the tornadoes that hit our state,
although I cannot say the same for so many of the cities that were left in ruins.

Here is a video of the tornado hitting Tuscaloosa:

To get an idea of the tornado damage in Tuscaloosa, just google "Tuscaloosa tornado damage."
The thing is, the damage you see in those photos doesn't even begin to cut the surface.
Tuscaloosa, and our entire state needs your prayers.

You might wonder why I said in the first paragraph that I hadn't been blogging much
because of the storm damage in our state - Well, I work for the Governor of the State of Alabama.
And needless to say this past week has been quite busy, hectic, heart breaking and stressful.
I know this post is quite scatter-brained, but I have a hard time expressing the damage that
our state is sitting in right now.  Please send prayers to the people affected by this horrible tragedy.
