Happy New Year!

image via design*sponge

I hope you each have a safe and happy new year!
And enjoy a little bubbly, too! :)

Firecracker

Dress - Francesca's
Top - T.J. Maxx
Boots - Steve Madden
Tights - Hue
Scarf - Gift from my dad & his girlfriend (I'm pretty sure she picked it out)
Earrings - Anthropologie

Our weather has been ridiculously crazy.  I woke up Monday morning and checked
the weather only to find that it was still frigid - the guy on the news said it was
15º F, but felt like 7º F.  What the what?  Today I woke up and the weather man
said that there would be a high of 68º F.  I guess that's what I get for living in
Alabama.  We never know what the weather is going to do here.  Freezing one
day then hot as a fire cracker the next.  I guess I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

I need YOU!

Okay guys, I need your input.
I purchased this dress from Anthropologie for an upcoming event:

Don't you just love it?  I do.  And it's even prettier in person.  *Swoon!*
I will be attending the Ladies Luncheon, which is the luncheon the first lady of Alabama
(the Governor's wife) hosts when the newly elected Governor takes office in January.

I already have a few ideas on how I want to style it, but I also wanted your input!
What would you pair this dress with?  What make-up would you wear?  Tights?  No tights?
I know y'all are creative and super stylish so I'm depending on you to give me some ideas.
So, give me some ideas ladies!  And thank you in advance!  :)

Procrastination

Top - American Eagle
Corduroy pants - Heritage 1981
Shoes - Target
Necklace - Urban Outfitters (similar here)
Earrings - Anthropologie

I could kick myself for being so awful at getting this 30 for 30 finished.
But the good news is that it's almost over!  And then I get to say hi to
the rest of my closet.  It really has been such an awesome challenge.
And I promise if I participate in another challenge I will finish it much faster :)

Tootsies

I'm about to get honest here people.  And it may not be pretty.
Winter has done a number on my feet - cracked heels, dry patches.  It's horrible!
My feet were in dire need of a nice spa pedicure, but since finances are a little
tight after the holidays I was so glad to get this little gem in my Christmas stocking...

This stuff is the bees-knees (I know.  I'm too funny for words, right?).
Seriously though, this stuff is my new stand by.  I live for it.  I die for it.
It has the most amazing aroma - coconut with peppermint. Yummmmm.
It's a thick, creamy gel (the same consistency as honey) that goes on smooth.

Before I go to bed I put it all over my feet where the trouble spots are and
put on nice, clean, cotton socks.  Then drift into a nice deep sleep...
After one use I was uh-mazed by the results.  No cracks.  No dry patches.
This is miracle foot creme people.  I hardly have words to express my love for it.
Your feet will thank you for it a million times over.  I promise :)

Naughty

Christmas made me a bad blogger.  Can you ever forgive me?
Traveling between two states and dodging snow storms wore me out!
Here are a few pictures from the crazy snow we got in the South...

This snow wasn't like the normal snow we see around here. Normally, it snows and
it's all melted by the next day. No, no. This snow stuck around like a bad cold.
It still has not all melted and it's been 4 days. Let's just say driving in this weather
wasn't fun. Us Southerners aren't equipped for cold.  Or snow.  Or driving.  Just kidding.

Our dogs are also not equipped for dealing with the stress of driving in the snow...

Maddie leads such a stressful life.  Her favorite toy at the moment is Rupert the rabbit
(or he used to be a rabbit until she chewed both of his ears off.  Now he looks like a
chipmunk or a squirrel), which you can see is keeping her company on our road trip.
Oh what a life.

I spent most of my holiday cuddling up on the couch right here  & enjoying the fire...

My Christmas was fantastic.  I feel so truly blessed.  I have an amazing
family and wonderful friends that I got to spend time with over the holiday.
How was your holiday?  Did you get any snow?  Did you get any good gifts?
I hope your holiday was as good as mine :)

Red Lips

Recently, I have come to adore the bright red hues that have been gracing
ladies lips this season.  I couldn't help but give in to the temptation!

I feel so very Marilyn when I don the red lip look.
I feel sassy and sexy, but still classy.  Which is perfect :)
So I thought I would share the products I use...

Application tutorial to come soon :)
And so is the hair twist tutorial!

Dining in Style

With Christmas this Saturday I keep thinking about all of the families that will
be spending time together and how most everyone will be huddled around the
dining room table.  Here are a few dining rooms I would love to sit at...

I can totally picture myself dining in any one of these rooms.
Eating my mom's squash casserole and drinking homemade eggnog. *Sigh*
I hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas filled with fond memories around the table :)

Tights - Hue
Necklace - Target (I think?)

Can you believe Christmas is this Saturday?  I would still think it was July if it
weren't for the fact that it is absolutely frigid outside and I am extremely pale.
This week has been so busy!  Trying to finish wrapping presents & shopping.
And also exhausted from work.  I am super excited to have a four day weekend!
And spend time with family and friends :)

I'm SO close to finishing the 30 for 30 challenge.  I feel like its taken me a while...
But I'm so glad I did it and I have definitely learned a lot from doing it!
I'll be sure to make a post of things I've learned in the process.

Anywho, how has your week been?  Are you just as excited about Christmas as I am?!
Have you finished all your holiday shopping?

Tacky

Tomorrow I will most likely be wearing one of these...

My good friend Katherine is getting married in March and me and two
of the other bridesmaids are throwing her and her fiance a tacky Christmas
sweater couples shower.  I know, we're such good friends, right? ;)

Pictures will definitely follow.

One of those Days

Dress - Marks & Spencer in London
Boots - Steve Madden
Knee Socks - Target

Oh y'all, it really was one of those days.  Or maybe two of those days.
I had to leave work early yesterday because all of our roads were icing over.
I live in between two mountains so if I don't get home in time - they shut down
the streets to my house and I'm outta luck.  Anywho, there was black ice and I
fell down half a flight of stairs.  Yep, graceful.  I have a bruise the size of a
cantaloupe on the side of my thigh.  It hurts to sit.  And stand.  I feel like I'm 90.

And today wasn't any better, although I didn't fall down any stairs.  Thank goodness.
It was just one of those days where I just wanted to go home, curl up in a ball
and fall asleep.  Do you ever have days like that?  Here's to hoping tomorrow is better.

Decorating with Frames

I really love the look of ton of frames decorating the walls.
They add an eye catching element to spaces that would otherwise be a blank canvas.
Here are a few of my favorites...

What do you think?
Would you decorate your home with an abundance of frames?
Or is that a too cluttered look for you?

Okay, I was a little behind on posting my 30 for 30 pictures.
I really loved my number 22 remix.  It was comfortable and I love the pairing of
blue and black together.  I like it so much I paired it together again for remix
number 23!  But this time I paired my black and blue with a gray blazer for the office.
Only 7 more outfits to go!  Maybe I'll be done by Christmas so I can wear any new
clothes by that time :)  Wishful thinking and keeping my fingers crossed.
