Recipe: Sausage Stars

Not only are these sausage stars easy, they are insanely addicting! I had blogged about them before (a long, long time ago), but thought they were worth another blog post.  Yes, they are that good.  Yes, you will gain 5 lbs. from eating an entire pan of them.  And yes, you can thank me (or yell at me) later  :)

Sausage Stars

Ingredients:

1 pound sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese (do not use pre-shredded)
1 1/2 cups grated Monterrey jack cheese (do not use pre-shredded)
1 cup prepared ranch dressing mix (make sure to use the dry ranch packet)

1 can (2.25 oz) sliced olives
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
1 package fresh or frozen won ton wrappers
Vegetable oil

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.

After cooking the sausage, blot it dry with a paper towel.  In a large bowl, combine sausage with cheeses, prepared ranch dressing, olives and red peppers.  Set aside.

Lightly grease a mini or regular muffin tin and press one won ton wrapper in each cup.  Brush won ton wrappers lightly with vegetable oil.
Bake for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven.

Fill won ton wrappers with sausage mixture.  Bake 5 minutes or until bubbly.  Makes 4 to 5 dozen.

Bon appetit!

Wedding Bells

Well, the wedding is less than two months away (eeek)!  Most everything is taken care of
with the exception of a few small DIY projects.  I can't tell you how excited I am to marry
my best friend and the love of my life!  He is everything (and more) that any girl could ever
want in a friend, confidant and husband.  So, without further ado here are a few pictures
of some of the wedding items I've been working on and a sneak peek at a few things...

Wedding invitations (that went out this past weekend!) from minted.com
And here they are with the lovely (and non-traditional) stamps...

And take a look at this sweet koozie my wonderful friend Miranda got me!  I love it!

Below is the wedding insert I made - monogram was made on Wedding Chicks.

As far as the bridesmaids dresses go, I told my sweet girls they could pick whichever dress they
wanted in the J. Crew Silk Taffeta Collection in the color I requested - and they all ended
up picking the same dress!  Can you guess which one?  Which color do you think I went with?

I can't wait for this weekend - we have a wonderful group of friends that are throwing
us a wedding shower in the fiancĂ©'s hometown.  I am so excited to see everyone!
What are your weekend plans?

Recently

Just a few things I've been up to lately (other than planning a wedding in 4 months)...

I've been seeing sweet friends + celebrating my friends Katie and Rory's first wee one!
I can't wait to meet the little guy (yep it's a boy!) and spoil him rotten :)

Enjoying a nice evening thunder storm...

Sipping a prickly pear margarita - helloooooo delicious!

I've been taking pictures of creepy men who wear shirts with kidney beans on them.
Side Note: After one or two margaritas I may or may not have yelled at spoken to this
nice gentleman and informed him that he indeed did have beans on his shirt.

We rode on a boat!  And continuously kept yelling "I'm on a BOAT!!"
Notice the fiance's muscle man pose - Can someone point me in the direction of the gun show?

There's more where that came from people.  Don't you worry your pretty little head.
What have y'all been up to lately?  Any fun summer travel plans?

Fly me to the moon

Well, I'm not flying.  And I'm definitely not going to the moon.
But I am over the moon excited about the next few days!

I'm headed down to our state capital (Montgomery) to attend the Governor's
Inaugural Ball!  I have my dress, my shoes, my make-up and I'm going to pretend
that I live this fancy life all the time.  Okay?  No, not okay?  Okay, well then I'll
just pretend I live this life until the stroke of midnight on Monday night.
Like Cinderella.

Have a happy weekend! :)

No Sew Birthday Bunting Tutorial!

It has been killing me not to share this tutorial with y'all!
I did this project over a month ago, but since it was for the boyfriend's birthday
I had to keep my mouth shut about it - and we all know how hard that is for me!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MISTER!!!

If you have someone's birthday coming up this is such a sweet and simple
way to add a little bit of a personal touch to the decorations :)

Here are the supplies & materials you will need:

1.  A ruler or straight edge
2.  Computer (and printer!)
3.  Ribbon
4.  Hot glue gun
5.  Felt (I used the stiff kind)
6.  Disappearing ink pen
7.  Scissors

Instructions:

1.  Bunting - Take your felt that will be used as the actual bunting and
the straight edge and mark the outline of the triangle for the bunting.
I made mine 6 inches long on the shortest side.

2.  Letters - After you've cut out each triangle (there should be 13 total)
you'll want to work on the letters.  On your computer choose the
font you'd like.  I chose this font on DaFont.

After you've printed out each letter you will need to cut each letter out.
Then trace it onto the color felt you chose for the lettering.

Cut out each letter.

Ooooooo pretty! Ok, sorry I got carried away looking at the cute letters!
Take your adorable little letters and hot glue them to each of your triangles.

3.  Ribbon - Take your ribbon and decide how much space you want in between
each piece of bunting.  I chose to put 2 inches.  Hot glue the ribbon in place
leaving a little bit of ribbon on each end of the bunting to hang it.

 and...

You've done it!
Now how easy was that???

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is off to a fantastic Monday!
Any exciting plans this week?
