Wedding Festivities

Let me first start by saying THANK YOU to everyone for the sweet words of congratulations

on mine and the fiance's engagement!  Wedding planning is in full swing!  As you can imagine ;)

Earlier this month we had a wedding shower in my hometown of Marietta, Georgia!

It was thrown by two of my dearest friends from high school and it was a blast!

It was so much fun seeing everyone and celebrating our upcoming nuptials!

We love it!  I have a few different ideas of where to hang it in our home and will
update everyone with where its new home is as soon as it finds its little nook.

We had another wedding shower this past week and I can't wait to show you the details!

Chair Envy

I saw this chair at World Market and immediately fell in love - look at those cute buttons!

My new secret weapon

Oh, how I missed y'all so!  I feel like with the wedding planning in full swing I don't

even have the energy to type when I get home - BUT I'm planning on changing that!

I have some projects I'm working on around the house and I have lots of wedding updates!

Okay, so on to my all important secret weapon.  It's big y'all.

I'm not sure how I'm just now discovering it, but here it is...

Yep!  Posie Tint by Benefit!

In my hunt for a light pink blush and a natural looking pink lipstick I came upon Posie Tint.

It's amazing - if I do say so myself.  It gives me the perfect pink glow to my cheeks and

when used as a lip tint it look incredibly natural.  And from all the reviews I read I believe

it will last quite some time!  In case you're wondering what it looks like on...

I got the Posie Tint in Pink Poppy, but it also comes in the original rose color.

If you're looking for a dual blush/lip tint that stays put I strongly suggest trying Posie Tint :)

Recently

Just a few things I've been up to lately (other than planning a wedding in 4 months)...

I've been seeing sweet friends + celebrating my friends Katie and Rory's first wee one!

I can't wait to meet the little guy (yep it's a boy!) and spoil him rotten :)

Enjoying a nice evening thunder storm...

Sipping a prickly pear margarita - helloooooo delicious!

I've been taking pictures of creepy men who wear shirts with kidney beans on them.

Side Note: After one or two margaritas I may or may not have yelled at spoken to this

nice gentleman and informed him that he indeed did have beans on his shirt.

We rode on a boat!  And continuously kept yelling "I'm on a BOAT!!"

There's more where that came from people.  Don't you worry your pretty little head.

My Favorite Salad

Wow!  The past month has been a wee bit crazy!

But more on that later ;)

I wanted to share with you my favorite salad - and what's even greater is that it only has 4 ingredients.

Here is what you will need:

Mixed baby greens

Goat cheese

Dried cranberries

Brianna's Asiago Caesar Dressing

Instructions:

Place mixed greens in a plate or bowl.  Top with goat cheese crumbles and dried cranberries.

Add a little bit of Brianna's dressing on top and you have a wonderful side salad.

You can even add some grilled chicken or shrimp on top to make it a complete meal!

Or pair it with a small tenderloin filet...

BIG news

That's right.

I have some very BIG, exciting, HUGE, unbelievable news.

I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must have had some type of preminition from that post I made yesterday!

And here is the beginning of the story of our engagement...

As you know I work for the Governor of the State of Alabama.  What you may not know is

that my boyfriend (now fiance!) also works for Governor Bentley.  Yesterday at 4:00 PM

we had a staff meeting scheduled in the Old House Chamber at the Capitol. The staff

meeting was a chance for the Governor to let the staff know how much he appreciated

our hard work during the recent tornado recovery.  Little did I know, this was not a

typical staff meeting.  Don't worry - our friends caught it all on video!  Enjoy :)

We both could not be more thrilled to be engaged and can't wait to begin our lives together.

A HUGE thank you to all of our friends and family that made that moment so memorable.

I can't wait to marry my best friend and the love of my life :)

A sweet something

I spied this video via Style Me Pretty and thought it was a perfect way to brighten anyones

day.  The love, joy and complete happiness between this couples seems immeasurable.
