Summer Tablescape

When I think of summer one of the first things that comes to mind is summer get-togethers.
And since I love to personalize my parties, I am loving the delicate touches of this tablescape from Southern Living!

I just adore the overall rustic and vintage look...

The neutral colors mixed with the white and silver are breathtaking!
And the clear glass bowls with the lattice white plate is right up my alley :)

Aren't these handwritten menus adorable?!?!
You could even download a handwriting style font and print them off to save time!

And we all know how much I love love love milkglass.  Swoon!

The individual potted plants are such a sweet touch.
And it would be great let your guests take them home at the end of the night!
You could also do away with the paper place card and handwrite
your guests names on the pot...Oh now that would be too cute!

These silver etched wine glasses are super elegant.
The way they reflect the light in room is simply stunning!

And to top it off they used a mixture of different styles of vintage silverware!  How lovely!

I think I may just need to throw a summer get-together after seeing this tablescape!

So, how are you decorating your table this summer?
Fresh flowers?  A vintage flare? Maybe a bold runner?
I'd love to know!  So, please do share!

Yard Sale Finds!

I can't even begin to explain how excited I was to stumble upon my yard sale finds!
My mom was in town taking care of me after my surgery and since I felt good enough - we set out early Saturday morning!

So here are my fabulous finds...

So, let's see what each item cost...

Okay, I LOVE this vintage thermos drink dispenser!  I found it at an estate sale and it's in perfect condition!
No scratches, discoloration or stains!  It was only $1.00!  Wahoo!!!

I got this large frame for only $1.00!  I know exactly what I'm going to do with it, too...

I have been searching for a vintage style clock like this!  And I found it at the first yard sale we stopped at!
And guess how much it was...Only $1.00!

Here are the legs of the chairs that were in the first picture (sorry I forgot to take an individual shot of them!).
I got each chair for $5.00 and can't wait to spruce them up a bit!

In the first picture you'll also see a pair of jeans...I could not believe that these are the same jeans I wear in my size!
And they look brand new!  They are Gap's Curvy jeans that are normally $70...I got them for $2!!!!

Okay, now I saved the best for last...
This is the front:

And this is the back:

By the way, I got two of these bad boys for $5 for the pair!
Don't be too jealous :)

So, my total cost for all my goodies...
$20 bucks!

I was literally giddy with joy after this yard sale trip!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

My Fave Five

Cottage and Vine is hosting a linky party asking what items we would pack in our cosmetic bag on
a weekend trip - and we can only bring FIVE!  Yikes!  After much thought, here are my five essentials:

1.  Lancome's Creme Radiance Cleanser - It takes a pea size amount for it to lather up and this
stuff really cleans your face!  It leaves my face feeling refreshed and smooth.

2.  Oil of Olay Complete - It's non-greasy and really sinks into my skin without drying up in two seconds.

3.  Clinique Supermoisture Foundation - This foundation goes on so smooth and isn't as heavy as others out there.
It also gives me that dewy finish so that I have that nice summer glow :)

4.  Maybelline Colossal Volume Express - Caroline from Through Rose Colored Glasses is the
one who actually turned me on to this mascara and it totally rocks my socks off!
It actually goes on thick and sticks to my lashes without giving me what I like to call "spider eyes".

And finally...

5.  Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil - This stuff is the bomb dot com!
I bring it with me everywhere!  It's like the original Burt's Bees, but it has a tint of color, too!
And since I don't wear lipstick and I'd rather not wear lip gloss this is perfect for me!

Head on over to Cottage and Vine and link up your five favorite beauty products!

Picture Frame Preview!

A few weeks ago I found a bunch of picture frames at the thrift store for under $1.50 each!
This is only a sampling of the frames I purchased...

I knew exactly what I was going to do with them!  But I'll wait to show you :)
I thought I would at least show you one of the finished frames...

I got this print while we were in Carmel in February because I thought it looked like Maddie :)

I had this fabric on hand from when I recovered these chairs and simply used it as the backing
for the picture.  I traced the glass from the frame to make sure it was the right size...

I just used my sewing pen with disappearing ink to trace it, cut it out and made sure that I centered
the print on the piece of fabric using a little bit of painters tape to make it stick.

A pretty picture...

For a pretty dog!

(sorry it's blurry...photo ops seem to occur when I only have my phone on hand!)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
